Rental Sales and Marketing Territory Manager

Fast growing entrepreneurial company specializing in the rentals and sales of heavy construction equipment is seeking an Experienced and Motivated person to help grow its rental division. This person will manage our existing client base as well as help develop and create new business.

Customer Service

  • Customer Service and Relationship Building is key to the success and growth of our Rental Department. The expectation is that the Heavy Equipment Outside Rental and Sales Representative will develop existing and foster new rental business relationships. The summary of expectation is that this individual will have an attitude that the customer is of utmost importance and we do what we must do within reason to satisfy the customer’s needs. This may include responding to after-hours calls.
  • Receive and respond to all rental equipment inquiries, quoting rates, providing delivery information, and ensuring that every call is handled with Superior Customer Service.

Job Requirements

As a Heavy Equipment Outside Rental and Sales Representative, you must have strong customer relations skills, the ability to organize and prioritize, proficient telephone skills, and the ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Additional requirements for the Heavy Equipment Outside Rental and Sales Representative include:

  • Extensive knowledge of industry leading brands for heavy equipment including CAT, John Deere, and Volvo, etc.
  • Managerial and leadership skills with ability to inspire others
  • High energy level and passionate about serving the customer
  • A strong desire to contribute and be part of a winning team
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized
  • Enjoys competing and winning as a team
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Common sense and problem-solving abilities
  • Advanced computer and organizational skills
  • Must meet the physical requirements of the job
  • Present a professional image in personal appearance, dress, and preparation
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
  • Regular and prompt attendance required

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Managing rental contract pricing (discounts and proper billing rates) and ensuring that rental contract information and paperwork is accurate and complete
  • Ensure that rental contracts are complete, including being signed and filed appropriately upon receiving paperwork back from delivery/pickup
  • Coordinate all incoming and outgoing rental transportation (independently or through assigned resources) and ensure that deliveries are made on time
  • Make contact with the customer after delivery to make sure equipment is satisfactory and on time delivery was met
  • On return of equipment, do a walk around (or have the assigned branch contact) to confirm meter reading and damages/misuse
  • The Heavy Equipment Outside Rental and Sales Representative will be responsible to work with the customer to conclude and coordinate invoice of repairs
  • Close out and final invoice of rental contract at end of rental
  • Oversee the freight and re-rent expense invoices from vendors
  • Report any lost orders (including re-rents)

Qualifications and Skills Experience

  • Requires at least 5 years of experience in the construction/heavy equipment rental industry
  • Point-of-Rental software experience a plus
